David Cooperman
VP, Content Development and Design
David Cooperman, Vice President of Content Development and Design, joined DVI Training Systems in June 2022, bringing with him a distinguished 30-year career in aviation. His experience in military and federal law enforcement aviation includes 25 years of collective experience in the United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force Reserve, and Customs and Border Protection.
A seasoned military aviator, David instructed hundreds of students as an AH-1W Weapons and Tactics Instructor, T-34C Standardization Instructor, and T-1A Instructor Pilot. Weapons employment, tactical night systems, combined arms, shipboard operations, tactical airlift, and all aspects of helicopter and fixed-wing flight training are just a few of Dave’s areas of expertise.
After joining a major commercial airline in 2007, he continued to blend his passion for teaching and aviation by designing innovative training systems and serving as a Flight Training Supervisor and Instructor Pilot on the MD-88/90 and A330 aircraft. His program management, bolstered by over 11,000 flight hours, included high-stakes regulatory initiatives such as pilot proficiency tracking and analysis, Captain leadership training, flight path management, and upset prevention and recovery. At DVITS, David leads the development and design of cutting-edge technical training resources, ensuring that today’s warfighters receive the highest standard of training and preparation.
